Current Hyperfixation: A Valentine’s Day Photoshoot

If you’re close with me, then you already know that Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday. If you don’t know me well, then let me tell you: Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday and I like to make a big deal out of it every year.

My best friend calls it my High Holy Day, which is pretty spot on. To me, there’s nothing better than a holiday dedicated to love, hearts, and everything pink. I am firm in my belief that Valentine’s Day is not just about Romantic love, it’s about celebrating all of the love in your life: love for your family, love for your friends, love for your community, love for yourself. I usually hand make Valentine’s for all of my loved ones, though this year time got away from me and I wasn’t able to continue some of my favorite traditions, instead I made new ones. My partner was unfortunately out of town on V-Day, but that didn’t stop me from celebrating. This year I spent the day with my childhood friend doing an informal photoshoot and eating Thai food. I want to share some of those photos here.
